Alongside this it is vital to equip those responsible for machinery with the skills to safely use, maintain and troubleshoot it. Too often we see a technology first approach being introduced in low- and middle-income countries resulting in machinery being left to gather dust once a break down occurs. Knowledge to solve these issues also lies out of reach.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A challenge which our plastic waste management programme, FINILOOP, is helping to solve with a brand-new<strong> <em>Training Manual on the Troubleshooting and Maintenance of Plastic Recycling Equipment.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-16018d1d wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.waste.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/FINILOOP-Training-manual_informal-sector.pdf\"><strong>Download your copy of the training manual <\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A manual designed to empower informal waste workers with the skills to safely maintain a wide range of plastic recycling machinery, setting them on a path to becoming recycling professionals while ensuring higher-quality recycled plastic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This accompanies our existing series of FINILOOP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waste.nl\/learn-more-with-finiloop-new-plastic-waste-management-video-tutorials-now-live\/\">\u2018how-to\u2019 plastic waste management video tutorials <\/a>which focus on aligned topics such as \u2018How to grind plastic waste\u2019 and \u2018how to separate plastic waste using a conveyor belt\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both sets of tools provide practical examples and form a strong basis for local teams to carry out in-person skills training. A vital element of FINILOOP\u2019s business development work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.waste.nl\/cases\/finiloop\/\"><strong>FINILOOP&nbsp;<\/strong><\/a><strong>is&nbsp;a city-level plastic waste management programme<\/strong> which connects and strengthens actors along the entire waste value and service chain&nbsp;to ensure cleaner environments for all and a more inclusive and transparent circular plastic economy.
